Derek Janis is Chief Marketing Officer at AcquireUp, a technology-first seminar marketing platform for financial professionals. He leads brand, demand, and partnerships, and recently launched the new AcquireUp brand by re-establishing audience engagement and unifying the product portfolio and go-to-market strategy. Named one of WSR’s “Top 5 Wealth Management CMOs” in 2025, Derek has built a reputation as a results-driven marketing leader.
Previously at General Motors, he launched BrightDrop, GM’s first all-electric delivery van, introduced the Arīv e-bike in Europe, scaled Maven, the company’s car-sharing startup, and modernized Cadillac’s performance marketing. Earlier, he founded and successfully exited a digital publishing startup.
He’s also an investor in Grüns gummies and Detroit City FC. Outside of work, he’s a husband, father, avid world traveler, and dedicated sports fan.
